How To Create A Hair Care Regimen For Your Child

We all have a regimen for our hair, but what about a regimen for your child?

We understand that caring for your child's hair can be challenging. You got your own regimen down packed and now you have to create a regimen for your child as well. We are here to tell you that your child's regimen does not have to be complicated. It just has to be consistent in order to see results. Here are some tips that helped me create a regimen for my child.

1. Choose a Shampoo

We recommend our Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo.

We use pure natural and organic ingredients, this gentle moisturizing shampoo is made from raw natural black soap to protect and nourish your scalp from the roots to ends. Our Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo is designed to have a rich lather and cleanse the hair and scalp without stripping the hair of its natural oils. This gentle, all-natural, African black soap shampoo is a great alternative to sulfate shampoos or Castile soaps and is the best moisturizing shampoo for kids with curly hair! Formulated with certified organic SLIPPERY ELM BARK and TEA TREE OIL, our Moisturizing Black Soap shampoo is certain to soften hair, soothe the scalp, and stimulate hair growth for an invigorating experience.

2. Conditioning/ Detangling

This step is a must and should not be skipped! To make the process easier, part the child's hair in sections when applying conditioner and also you can detangle while the conditioner is in the childs hair. Use a wide-tooth comb or even your fingers to detangle. We suggest using our Avocado and Banana Deep Conditioner. You can also pair our Deep Conditioner with our Growth oil for extra conditioning. If your child is old enough you can also use a steamer for extra moisture.

3. Styling

When it comes to styling your child's hair protective styling is best. Styles like twists and braids are always great to keep your hands out of your child's hair on a daily basis. When you don't mess with the hair a lot, it will flourish!

4. Night Time

Make sure that you are keeping your child's hair protected at night. You should always make sure your child sleeps with a satin bonnet or satin pillowcase. Cotton pulls the moisture from the hair so its best to protect the hair with satin at night.

You also need to make sure that you are adding moisture to your child’s hair in-between wash days. We recommend using our Moisturizing Aloe Refresher Spray as a daily moisturizer. Added tip: Warm the Moisturizing Aloe Refresher Spray up in the microwave before spraying on the child’s hair.

Every process takes trial and error, so have patience. What questions do you have about your child's hair care regimen?
