Naughty or Nice: The Do’s and Don’ts List for Best Results

Naughty or Nice: The Do’s and Don’ts List for Best Results

Santa is coming to town and he’s going to find out if you’ve been naughty or nice!  When it comes to caring for your child’s hair, the difference between naughty and nice habits can mean the world for healthy hair. At Reagan Sanai Essentials, we’ve created products that are gentle yet effective, formulated to meet the needs of sensitive, eczema-prone skin for all hair types. But even the best products need proper care and technique to shine.

Nice: Do Detangle with Care

Product highlight: Moisturizing Leave-In Detangler

Before styling, use our Moisturizing Leave-In Detangler to gently work through knots. Start at the ends and slowly work your way up to avoid breakage.

Naughty: Don’t Skip Sectioning

Skipping sections can lead to applying the product unevenly and tangled hair. Frustration for both you and your little one. Take a moment to section the hair—it’s worth the effort for a smoother styling process.

Nice: Lock in Moisture with the LCO Method

Product Highlights: Moisturizing Leave-In Detangler, Mango Butter Soufflé Whipped Hair & Body Butter,  and Moisturizing Aloe Refresher Spray. Layering is key to long-lasting hydration!

Stap 1- LIQUID/LEAVE-IN (L)Lightly dampen the hair with "Moisturizing Aloe Refresher Spray" to moisturize your hair. Then apply a small amount of "Moisturizing Leave-in Detangler".

Step 2- CREAM (C): Apply a small amount of Mango Butter Soufflé to seal in the moisture from the refresher spray and leave-in conditioner.

Step 3- OIL (O) : Apply a small amount of "Nourishing Growth Oil" to hair & scalp to promote shiny healthy hair.

Naughty: Don’t Overuse Products

More isn’t always better! Our products are concentrated and made to perform with just a small amount. Overapplying can weigh down hair and leave buildup, which can affect hair growth.

Nice: Do Wash Regularly—But Not Too Often

Product highlight: Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo
Clean hair is happy hair, but over-washing can strip natural oils. Stick to a schedule that suits your child’s hair type, whether it’s weekly or biweekly. We suggest to wash infants hair no more than once a week. For teenagers we suggest once every two weeks.

Naughty: Don’t Skip Scalp Care

Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Neglecting the scalp can lead to buildup and irritation. Massage the scalp during wash day to stimulate blood flow to increase hair growth.

Nice: Do Use Deep Conditioning Treatments

Product highlight: Avocado & Banana Deep Conditioner
Deep conditioning is essential for restoring moisture and elasticity to natural hair. Use our Avocado & Banana Deep Conditioner every wash day to replenish and strengthen strands.

Naughty: Don’t Skip Nighttime Protection

Leaving hair exposed overnight can cause tangles and breakage. Use a satin bonnet or pillowcase to reduce friction and retain moisture while your little one sleeps.

Nice: Do Use Protective Styles

Protective styles like twists or braids keep hair safe from friction and damage. Pair these styles with our Hyrdating Multi-Use Styling Foam to maintain hold and add a touch of shine.

Naughty: Don’t Rush the Routine

Hair care is a journey, not a race. All routines are not the same for each child. Take your time to listen to your child’s hair needs, experiment with techniques. Remember consistency is key!
