Q. How did you first discover Reagan Sanai Essentials, and what made you choose Reagan Sanai?
I first discovered Reagan Sanai Essentials through a local casting call for a campaign shoot featuring babies with cradle cap. At the time, Cherish was almost three months old and dealing with both persistent cradle cap and eczema. I was immediately drawn to the brand because their products are specially formulated for children with sensitive skin and are made from all-natural, organic ingredients. As a former pediatric cancer research scientist, I am highly mindful of the importance of using products free from harsh chemicals on my children, which made Reagan Sanai Essentials an ideal choice for my family.
At the campaign shoot, Cherish got her hair washed with the Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo and I saw how gently it cleansed away her cradle cap flakes in just one wash. After the shoot, I took home the Infant Collection Kit and continued to use it seeing great results with clearing up her cradle cap and getting her eczema under control. I wish I tried the brand sooner because she did end up developing a bald spot from the cradle cap and her tugging at her hair because the eczema was making her uncomfortable. I continued with the brand and started using the I Want It All Whole Collection Kit when she was 5 months old to address regrowing her bald spot and maintaining healthy moisturized hair. Again I saw undeniable results within a couple of months, and Reagan Sanai Essentials has been our go-to kids haircare brand ever since.
Q. What challenges were you facing with your children’s hair before using our products?
Before discovering Reagan Sanai Essentials, I faced some challenges with Cherish’s hair and skin. She was born with a full head of hair, but I noticed some hair loss due to persistent cradle cap that wasn’t improving despite trying other products. Additionally, she was dealing with mild eczema, a condition that runs in my family. Managing both the cradle cap and her sensitive, eczema-prone skin was difficult until I found Reagan Sanai’s products specifically designed to address these issues with gentle, natural ingredients.
Q. Which Reagan Sanai Essentials products are your favorites, and how do you use them in your routine?
My favorites? Well I use the entire product line on my kids. I would say my absolute go-to products are the Moisturizing Black Soap Shampoo and Avocado Banana Deep Conditioner for wash days, and for styling it would be the Moisturizing Aloe Refresher Spray, Nourishing Growth Oil, and Moisturizing Leave-in Detangler. I get the best results with the products using them based on Cherish’s hair porosity type. She has low-porosity hair so the LOC method works best in her hair care regimen.
Q. How have you seen your children’s hair improve over the past two years?
Cherish experienced infant hair loss and developed a bald spot in the back of her head by the time her cradle cap fully cleared up. When she was 5 months old I started using the I Want It All Whole Collection Kit with her consistently and within 30 days I could already see noticeable regrowth in her bald spot. By 90 days it was barely noticeable where she even lost any hair. 6 months later, the back of her hair was gaining length and starting to catch up with the rest of her hair.
Now 2.5 years later, we’ve continued to stay consistent with using Reagan Sanai Essentials products on Cherish’s hair and her hair has grown so much! When you stretch her curls out, her hair reaches down to the waist band of her pants. She rarely has eczema break outs these days because we use the Mango Butter Soufflé to moisturize her skin, but when she does have one it clears up very quickly using this product.
Q. What advice would you give to other parents looking to establish consistent hair care routines for their children?
My advice would be to be consistent. It’s hard to figure out what works if you’re jumping around from brand to brand and not using the same products routinely. There’s a lot of great products in the Reagan Sanai Essential line, but a consistent routine will help you see what’s really working for your child’s hair and help you tailor your hair care regimen to get the best results.
Also, do a porosity test and learn what hair care routines work best for your child’s specific hair porosity type. People commonly think hair texture is the top factor in how well a product will work in their hair or not, and it’s actually not. The top factor is hair porosity, which has nothing to do with curl pattern.
Q. Are there any fun or memorable moments you’d like to share about your experience with Reagan Sanai Essentials?
When Cherish sees the Reagan Sanai products she KNOWS it’s time to get pampered and pretty. I actually have to hide the bottles from her because she will use the products on her baby dolls hair when I’m not looking! The products smell great and her baby dolls all have the best smelling doll hair!
